Originally started as a Noise dump and sigil-binding archetype by Brandon Dai Cahal of the now disbanded Electro/Industrial act Mind Altering Substance: (2003-2007).

A Field of Black Orchids' was formulated as an homage to death industrial and powernoise acts of the early 70- 90's; A Field of Black Orchids began persuing various methods of rhythmic industrial music in 2007. Focusing on staying true the the core of Industrial progressive experimental programing, tape cuts, circuit bending, and a barrage of sound sculpting has brought a very different- essence to the genre.

Drawing inspiration from Experimental artists such as Coil, Throbbing Gristle, P.T.V., Nurse with Wound, Merzbow, etc. The sound can flux from extermely harsh industrial sound scapes litered with complex sound design and drum work, to etherial pieces of IDM interwoven with lyrical content. A Field of Black Orchids is an archetypial mental construct that opperates outside confines of conventional terms of what is deemed 'listenable'. Wrapped within many-a track are hymns to various animus archetypes and altering godforms of our own construction, or as specifically stated,

"To re: mOVe D0G maTIC programs from the MENtal construct in favOR of more USEful ONEs/Experiments in chaos and ritual harmony devised through honeycomb tongue in the snake drip mantis hole. Diagnosis ov memetics interwoven through low level frequency oscillations."

A Field of Black Orchids is currently in the process of releasing it's 2nd LP, which relies heavily on Pythagorean harmonic scales and melody in flux with a more vocalized stance towards ritualized knowledge and digital shamanic tendancies.
